Pomona, CA…Casa Colina Centers for Rehabilitation will hold a free sports medicine seminar on Tuesday, September 25 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Tamkin Education Center, Building 1D, on the Casa Colina campus at 255 East Bonita Avenue (at Garey) in Pomona. The seminar will be repeated on Tuesday, October 2 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in conjunction with San Antonio Community Hospital at its Rancho Rehabilitation Center, which is located at 7777 Milliken Avenue G30, in Rancho Cucamonga (one block north of Foothill Blvd. inside the Rancho San Antonio Medical Center building).
Topics of discussion include avoiding head and neck injuries during play, evaluating and treating head or neck injuries on the field, determining when a player can return to play, typical head injuries and common cervical spine injuries that occur on the field.
Michael D. Marger, M.D., a board-eligible orthopedic surgeon and associate at Garey Orthopedic Medical Group in Pomona, will present the seminar. Dr. Marger is a sports medicine fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in shoulder surgery, arthroscopic surgery of the knee and shoulder, and general orthopedics.
