Casa Colina Foundation to Host Three Fall Fundraising Events

August 1, 2013…Pomona, CA – Casa Colina Foundation is gearing up for an exciting fall season of fundraising events, and there is something for everyone.

On September 27, 2013, the second annual "An Evening in Casablanca" gala will be held at Candlelight Pavilion in Claremont, CA. Set against the backdrop of Morocco and incorporating many themes from the beloved 1940s celluloid classic, An Evening in Casablanca will be a night of casino gambling, auctions, and live entertainment. All proceeds will benefit Casa Colina Children's Services, which provides physical rehabilitation services for children with acquired and developmental disabilities, including autism, cerebral palsy, and Down syndrome. The event begins at 6:30 PM and concludes at midnight. Individual tickets are $150 and sponsorship packages start at $1,000.

Our newest event, the Padua Village Art Auction, will be an afternoon of culture on October 6, 2013 and held at a private, historic home in Upland, CA. Guests may bid on original works donated by local artists, with proceeds benefitting the residential program at Padua Village Homes for adults with developmental disabilities. The event will be held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM and sponsorship packages start at $250.

The 34th Annual Casa Golf Classic Bill Haaker Memorial tournament will take place on October 21, 2013, once again at South Hills Country Club in West Covina, CA. This will be a wonderful day out on the links followed by dinner, a raffle for a trip to Hawaii and an exciting live auction. All proceeds benefit Casa Colina's Outdoor Adventures program, which engages individuals who are recovering from a traumatic injury or illness in active outdoor sports and recreational therapy. Outdoor Adventures provides challenging opportunities for individuals with physical and mental disabilities to build confidence and help them become more independent in their everyday lives. The tournament will begin with breakfast at 8:00 AM followed by a shotgun start at 10:00 AM. The Individual Golfer Fee is $475 and sponsorship packages start at $1,500.

About Casa Colina Centers for Rehabilitation

Casa Colina Centers for Rehabilitation was founded in 1936 in Chino, CA under the leadership of Frances Eleanor "Mother" Smith and other community leaders and physicians to provide rehabilitative care to children with polio. In the early 1950s when polio was at epidemic proportions, a plan was developed to build a new hospital in nearby Pomona, CA. In 1959, the new hospital was completed and Casa Colina expanded its medical and physical rehabilitation services to concentrate on treating people of all ages and disabilities resulting from neurological and/or orthopedic conditions. In recent years, Casa Colina has renovated its entire 20-acre Pomona campus to include a state-of-the-art acute rehabilitation hospital, outpatient center, post-acute residential rehabilitation center, children's services, adult day health care, specialized physician's clinics, diagnostic imaging, ambulatory surgery center, outdoor recreation program, and other highly specialized services. The new Casa Colina Medical Office Building opened on the campus in June 2013 and plans are also underway to begin construction of a 31-bed medical surgical hospital addition.
