Casa Colina Offers Free Community Seminar "Staying Ahead of Multiple Sclerosis" Tuesday, April 1 from 6 to 8 PM


In its continued efforts to educate the community about new medical and rehabilitation options for the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Casa Colina is pleased to host a free community education seminar on Tuesday, April 1 from 6 to 8 pm at its Pomona Campus.

Topics of discussion include a brief overview of "what is MS?", the latest therapies and medications, benefits of physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy, exercises to help with movement and mobility, as well as a discussion of various accessories to aid walking that include Bioness, Walk Aide, Hip Flex Assistive Device (HFAD) and more. A question and answer session will follow the presentation.

Guest speakers include board-certified neurologist Richard Shubin, M.D., Program Medical Director of the Casa Colina Multiple Sclerosis Center, and Kathy San Martino, Physical Therapist and Neurological Clinical Specialist. Kathy is also an MS Certified Specialist.

Free educational materials will be provided by the National MS Society.
