Renowned rehabilitation doctors join Casa Colina to treat patients
and provide critical support to medical staff
(May 12, 2014, Pomona, CA) – Casa Colina Centers for Rehabilitation is pleased to announce today that key physicians from the renowned Rehabilitation Associates Medical Group have joined the Casa Colina healthcare team at its 20-acre hospital and rehabilitation campus in Pomona. These board certified physiatrists (doctors who specialize in physical medicine and rehabilitation) are all Clinical Professors at UC Irvine and include Ann T. Vasile, M.D.; Diemha T. Hoang, M.D.; H. Richard Adams, M.D.; and Fred Batkin, M.D.

Ann T. Vasile, M.D., Casa Colina Medical Director of Rehabilitation
Dr. Vasile focuses on neurologic and spinal cord rehabilitation. She is board certified in spinal cord injury medicine. She is also a Paradigm Medical Director and manages catastrophic spinal cord injury cases across the country to maximize patients' outcomes. Dr. Vasile holds many certifications, including Electrodiagnostic Studies, Lower Limb and Spinal Orthotics, Principles Prosthetics Training and Physician Management Training. She received her medical degree from Albany Medical College in Albany, New York, and fulfilled her residency at New York University's Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine and University of California, Irvine. She has received multiple honors, including U.S. News and World Report's, "Top Doctors."
Diemha T. Hoang, M.D., Casa Colina Program Director of Traumatic Brain Injury
Dr. Hoang specializes in traumatic brain injuries and other neurological disorders. She holds certification in vestibular rehabilitation. After obtaining her medical degree from McGill University Faculty of Medicine in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, she fulfilled her residency at University of California, Irvine. Dr. Hoang is also an Associate Clinical Professor at UCI Medical Center. She has participated in several clinical studies for innovative, new treatment protocols. She has received numerous honors, including "Southern California's Super Doctors" and "America's Top Physician Awards" for Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine.
H. Richard Adams, M.D.
Dr. Adams acts as a mentor for Casa Colina's rehabilitation physicians and connects them with key resources to enhance patient care. He has over 30 years of medical rehabilitation experience. His expertise spans neuro-pharmological agents, spasticity management and the continuum of care for catastrophic injuries. He is also involved in brain injury research for the National Institute of Health and is a Paradigm Medical Director. Dr. Adams regularly speaks at medical symposiums on topics such as pediatric/adult brain injury rehabilitation, marketing ethics, vocational rehabilitation, spasticity, the effects of managed care on rehabilitation and the continuum of care. He has received numerous awards, including U.S. News and World Report's "Best Physician." He has been nominated for "Excellence in Health Care" by ABC Channel 7/MemorialCare and most recently was named "Person of the Year" for B.R.A.I.N.
Fred Batkin, M.D.
Dr. Batkin provides vital clinical insight and administrative support to Casa Colina's rehabilitation physicians and administration. He previously acted as the Director of Inpatient Rehabilitation Orthopaedics at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center for over 20 years as well as the Director of Long Beach Memorial Medical Center's Pain Management Program for nearly 10 years. After graduating and obtaining his medical residency from the University Of Hawaii School Of Medicine, he completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at University of California, Irvine. He has remained there ever since as an Associate Clinical Professor, where he has played an important role in shaping the next generation of doctors for more than 25 years.

Casa Colina was founded in 1936 in Chino, CA to provide rehabilitative care to children with polio. In 1959, it moved to a new facility in Pomona, CA and expanded its services to treat people of all ages and disabilities resulting from neurological and/or orthopedic conditions.
