CASA COLINA TO BE FEATURED ON NBC TV SHOW THREE WISHES - FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14 THE SAME DAY AS ITS NEW HOSPITAL GRAND OPENING EVENT
Pomona, CA… Casa Colina Centers for Rehabilitation has more cause to celebrate this Friday, October 14, 2005. In addition to holding its Grand Opening Event after six years of ongoing construction and renovation on its Pomona campus, it will also be featured on NBC's new show entitled Three Wishes, which is hosted by five-time Grammy Award winning recording artist Amy Grant and airs Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
The one-hour episode includes a true story about a high school teen in LeMars, Iowa, who experienced a car accident in 2003 that left her with a traumatic brain injury and caused her to miss her high school graduation. NBC's Three Wishes granted the young woman's wish to have her high school graduation recreated so she could receive her diploma with all of her classmates. As an additional surprise for her, Three Wishes contacted Casa Colina Centers for Rehabilitation to provide rehabilitation services to the teen, and transported a Casa Colina team -- including a physical medicine and rehabilitation physician, registered nurse, physical therapist, and neuropsychologist.-- to Iowa to work with her and her existing therapist in providing additional rehabilitation.
Prior to the Three Wishes airing at 9pm on the same day, Casa Colina will hold its opening celebration, which will begin promptly at 5:00 pm with a social hour and tours of the new rehabilitation hospital. The formal dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 6:00 pm followed by a catered reception with live music and performers. The event will be held on Casa Colina's 20-acre campus at 255 East Bonita Avenue (at Garey Avenue) in Pomona. Over 1,000 guests from all over Southern California and beyond have registered to attend the new hospital's ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony. The event is now closed to further guest registration due to parking and space considerations.
