Because of the generous gift of time given by hundreds of volunteers annually, the Outdoor Adventures program exists as it does today. There are many opportunities throughout the year for volunteers to experience our unique activities and thereby join the Outdoor Adventures family.
Safety is our number one priority. Giving our volunteers the tools to best prepare him or her for the requirements of the program helps to insure that each person will have a safe and enjoyable experience. Outdoor Adventures hosts several volunteer trainings annually. For those of you who may be new to the Outdoor Adventures program, it is imperative that you attend this training as key information, policies, procedures, and in-field techniques will be covered. For those of you who have volunteered previously but have not yet attended our formal training, please plan to attend on one of those dates listed below to update your skills and to share your experiences with new volunteers.
The day will consist of video and slide presentations, instructions from staff and other professionals, shared experiences from seasoned volunteers, in-field practice of required techniques, and plenty of time for questions. Lunch will be provided. We are genuinely appreciative of the time and resources that volunteers have devoted to the life of Outdoor Adventures over the past 19 years. We look forward to sharing this fun and educational day with those of you already in the Outdoor Adventures family and look forward to meeting those of you who are new! To register for our volunteer training, please call us as soon as possible so that we may have an accurate count for each session. The Outdoor Adventures staff can be reached at 909/596-7733, extension 2200.
