Pomona, CA… A special ceremony will take place during the “Walk
and Roll for Casa’s Kids” that will honor Paula Zeidman and
the memory of her husband, Jake, who was an Ontario businessman and philanthropist.
Jake and Paula will receive Casa Colina’s Annual Friend of the Children
Award. The “Walk and Roll” will take place on Saturday, June
28, 2008 from 9:00 am to 11:30 am at Casa Colina’s medical and rehabilitation
campus located at 255 East Bonita Avenue (at Garey) in Pomona.
The “Walk and Roll,” is a fundraising event benefiting Casa
Colina Children’s Services. This family fun fair will include vendors,
a petting zoo, bounce houses, DJ and other family friendly activities.
The main attraction will be the Walk & Roll Children’s Parade
that will proceed around the building and gardens on Casa Colina’s campus.
Funds raised at “Walk & Roll for Casa’s Kids” will
be used to benefit Casa Colina Children’s Services. Casa Colina
Foundation subsidizes nearly 35% of the care provided at Children’s
Services that assists in providing 21,000 treatment visits annually for
children ages 0-16 with autism spectrum disorder, developmental delay,
genetic disorders, brain injury, spinal cord injury, neurological disorders,
cerebral palsy, orthopedics, and sports injuries. It is the premiere regional
provider of early intervention for children with autism.
Jake Zeidman served on the Board of Casa Colina and had recently been
elected to the office of Treasurer. He and his wife Paula have a special
interest in the welfare of children and were active supporters of Casa
Colina Children’s Services. Zeidman was President of Patton Sales
Corp. of Ontario, CA., a leading manufacturer of steel, industrial machinery,
and office furniture in the Inland Empire. He also found time to give
back to the community in many ways and “the Friend of the Children
Award” is a recognition of his and his family’s support of
the needs of children with disabilities.
