Multiple Sclerosis
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disease that affects the nerves in the brain
and spinal cord. MS occurs when the body’s own immune system attacks
the protective covering, called myelin, that surrounds nerve cells. The
symptoms of multiple sclerosis vary widely. Their severity and frequency
depends on the type of MS that is diagnosed.
We created the Multiple Sclerosis Center to fit the specific needs of those
with MS. It is the only facility of its kind in the area.
Casa Colina has a neurologist-led team of multiple sclerosis experts. We
take a comprehensive approach by examining all aspects of multiple sclerosis
that affect each individual – focusing on the diagnoses, aftercare,
education and support of the patient and their family members.
