Voiding Dysfunction & Pelvic Pain Program

If your quality of life suffers due to voiding dysfunction or pelvic pain, Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare can help. The Voiding Dysfunction & Pelvic Pain Program combines expertise in musculoskeletal function with specialized treatments and equipment to strengthen the pelvic floor and improve pelvic alignment. We work with patients at their comfort level on these sensitive disorders, with the goal of achieving improved bowel/bladder function and decreased pain.

Whether due to stress, infection, or an anatomic or neurological issue, much can be done to alleviate the discomfort and potential stigma associated with voiding dysfunctions and pelvic pain.

Our innovative treatments include:

  • Computerized pelvic floor biofeedback therapy
  • Pelvic floor and core muscle exercises
  • Soft tissue and/or myofascial release
  • Modalities: electrical stimulation, ultrasound, ice/heat
  • Bladder/bowel training
  • Home exercise

Our program can help patients to:

  • Decrease incontinence (urinary and/or bowel) through strengthening/relaxation of pelvic floor
  • Minimize pelvic pain
  • Decrease frequency of urination
  • Improve ability to void
  • Strengthen the pelvis to help with prolapse conditions

You’ll benefit from our program’s customized approach to care, all overseen by experienced physical therapists who are specially trained in musculoskeletal pelvic floor and somatic function. We will also consult with other specialists as needed to help our patients achieve the best possible outcomes.
