Application Information

The OPTI-West Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program participates in the National Resident Matching Program. Applications for the advanced program are only received through Electronic Residency Application Services (ERAS).

Three positions are offered each year for the PGY2 level. The Casa Colina Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency is a three-year program. Advanced applicants must submit applications to the OPTI-West Residency Program only. Applicants invited to interview will meet with the program director, faculty, and current residents. Our program participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).

Residency applicants will provide:

  • Dean’s Letter (MSPE) from your medical school.
  • At least three letters of recommendation. We prefer one letter from rehab faculty who worked closely with you and two letters from faculty of your choosing.
  • Scores from Step I of the United States Medical Licensing Examination® (USMLE) and/or the NBOME’s COMLEX-USA Level 1, COMLEX-USA Level 2 CE and PE. We must have your Step I and/or COMLEX 1 and 2 PE and CE scores to consider your application. We do not have a formal screening cutoff for USMLE/COMLEX scores. Please note that successful completion of Step II Clinical Knowledge and Clinical Skills as well as COMLEX Level 1 and 2 PE and CE is required to begin any of our residency training programs. We also prefer those who passed their USMLE and COMLEX-USA examinations on the first attempt.
