Our Health Care Needs Assessment and Community Benefits Report
Casa Colina's mission is focused on providing direct services to individuals.
We are aware that for some people, lack of insurance or other funding
is a barrier to receiving services. In addition, the health and well-being
of the community as a whole, and the strength of our sister organizations
that create a care network, are critical factors for all of us.
As a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, Casa Colina has a special responsibility
to ensure that our services are available to all people who can benefit
from them and that we do our part in providing for the health and wellness
of the community in general, now and in the future.
In the Fiscal Year Ending (FYE) 2014, Casa Colina provided $962,209 of
direct free care to persons who are uninsured or underinsured and/or low
income, and unreimbursed MediCare/Medi-Cal services. It provided total
community benefits valued at $3,982,796 in FYE 2014 which ranged from
free sports injury screenings and health education for the public and
for professionals, to the support of other community organizations and
providing internship opportunities for the next generation of nurses,
therapists and physicians.
These community benefits are prioritized based on the health care needs
of people in our community. To know more about what these specific needs
are, every three years Casa Colina conducts a
Community Health Needs Assessment to learn more about the needs of the people we serve. The most recent Assessment
was completed in March 2015 and is available to view
Implementation Strategy describes how Casa Colina plans to address significant health needs identified
in the 2015 Community Health Needs Assessment. For each significant health
need that the hospital plans to address the strategy will include actions
the hospital intends to take including programs and resources it plans
to provide, anticipated impacts of these actions, and planned collaboration
between the hospital and other organizations. To learn more about the
implementation strategy to address the needs of the people we serve, the
most recent report completed in August 2016 is available to view
Additionally, in order to stay on track with our efforts to provide benefits
to the community to address these needs, Casa Colina does an annual review
and publishes a
Community Benefits Report. The Report for
FYE 2016 is available to view
