Casa Colina offers a variety of health and wellness programs for patients

Living Well with MS - 12 Weeks to Healthier Living
Designed for those recently diagnosed and/or those first facing life-challenges
related to MS symptoms. Participants gain a better understanding of MS
and the lifestyle strategies that can help diminish the effects of this
disease. Facilitated by the Multiple Sclerosis Center at Casa Colina 3

Optimal Living with MS
A 12-week program to help people experiencing changes in their MS to take
control, improve physical function, regain and maintain independence,
and overcome challenges. Facilitated by the occupational therapists and

CogniFitness - Keeping the Mind Moving
Learn to improve focus and concentration, memory, organization, problem
solving and critical thinking skills with MS. Facilitated by speech therapists

Free From Falls
A 9-week fall prevention program designed for people with MS who are ambulatory,
but who may be at risk for falling. Learn about fall risks, tips and strategies
to reduce falls and enhance balance and safety. Facilitated by physical
therapists from the Casa Colina Multiple Sclerosis Center. Call the National

Parkinson's Disease Speech & Exercise Group
Designed for those diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Speech therapy,
physical therapy, and occupational therapy are rotated throughout the
sessions. All therapists are certified in LSVT BIG and LOUD, the latest
integrated rehabilitation approach for Parkinson's disease. Facilitated
by the Casa Colina Movement Disorders Center.

Pulmonary Wellness Program
Over the course of six informative sessions, you will hear from a variety
of medical professionals devoted to helping you learn skills to improve
breathing. The program is overseen by a board-certified pulmonologist
who works with a team of respiratory therapists, occupational therapists,
physical therapists, neuropsychologists, pharmacists, and nutritionists.
Learn about energy conservation techniques and adaptive equipment to enhance
daily productivity; tools to better manage anxiety and stress; proper
use of inhalers to maximize oxygen intake; group exercises to improve
overall physical condition with a focus on lung function; nutritional
counseling for better health and weight management specific to COPD; strategies
to improve quality of sleep; and home exercises to optimize wellness.

Speech Conversation Group
Casa Colina's Outpatient Speech Conversation Group is designed to promote
expressive language skills by practicing strategies to enhance daily conversations
within the home and community. The group will focus on individuals who
have communication difficulties as a result of a stroke. Areas addressed
include improved initiation in social contexts, problem-solving communication
breakdowns, and accessing resources within the community. A speech-language
pathologist leads the group, while facilitating use of strategies trained
amongst conversation groups and partners.
Meets every Tuesday 3 to 4 pm for 8 weeks - 2-week breaks will occur between
each 8-week session
