Quadripilegic - Advanced Technology

Description of Trial:

Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare, David Geffen School of
Medicine at UCLA, and the California Institute of Technology are collaborating on a study that allows individuals with paralysis to control a computer using thought alone.

Scope Information
Participating Institutions:
  • Casa Colina and Centers for Healthcare
  • David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA
  • California Institute of Technology
Exclusion Criteria:
Subjects with quadriplegia who can:
  • Attend Casa Colina 3-5 times a week for at least one year*
  • Live within one hour of Casa Colina (Transportation available at no cost)
  • Have electrodes implanted surgically, and then removed after one year by
  • a leading UCLA neurosurgeon

*Study sessions will last 3-4 hours. During this time, you will learn to control the computer interface with the aide of the study team.
