Low Vision

Improve your quality of life with low vision rehabilitation

Are you or a loved one no longer able to drive, work, read, or participate in daily activities because of low vision? Nearly 13 million Americans – one out of every six adults over the age of 45 – are affected by a significant visual deficit.

Whether you experience limitations in vision processing, peripheral vision, or other problems with eyesight, Casa Colina’s Low Vision Program can help. We offer a variety of innovative medical interventions and therapies. Patients may be referred from their primary care physician, ophthalmologist, or optometrist.

Casa Colina’s Low Vision program is designed for individuals with:

  • Stroke
  • Macular degeneration
  • Diabetic retinopathy
  • Multiple sclerosis
  • Glaucoma
  • Parkinson's disease
  • Cataracts
  • Traumatic brain injury
  • Albinism
  • Retinitis pigmentosa

There's Always a Way to Improve

Working closely with your doctor, our occupational therapist, who is a certified low vision specialist, will evaluate your current functional status and design a custom treatment plan that shows you how to:

  • Make better use of remaining vision through adaptive vision techniques and the latest technology including smart phones and iPads
  • Operate adaptive equipment that aids vision
  • Adjust surroundings at home for added safety and enjoyment
  • Interact with the community and pursue outside activities again
