Children's Services

Where all kids are welcome

What Makes the Children’s Services Center Special?

The Casa Colina Children's Services Center is all about discovery and helping families find a new sense of hope, awareness, and strength. We help children, from infancy to 23 years of age, make remarkable progress despite the unique challenges they face. The children we serve may have physical, learning, sensory, communication, or social developmental delays. Yet, they all experience the inner joy and satisfaction that comes from reaching a new milestone.

The Best in Pediatric Clinical Care

Pediatric specialists at the Casa Colina Children’s Services Center include licensed physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and early intervention specialists. Our Center’s day-to-day operations are overseen by a licensed, registered occupational therapist who is board-certified in pediatrics (BCP) by the American Occupational Therapy Association, is a published researcher, and is also Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT)-certified.

The CSC Medical Director, Dr. Margaret Bauman, is a world-renowned pediatric neurologist and published researcher who specializes in autism and related medical issues. Dr. Bauman established all of our autism-related services and continues to be a valuable contributor to our team.

Working together with our children and their families, these specialists employ the latest therapeutic practices and technologies to foster progress in seven key areas of development:

  • Gross motor skills (use of large muscles, such as walking)
  • Fine motor skills (use of small muscles, such as hand movements)
  • Expressive language skills (such as verbal, signed, or with an AAC device)
  • Receptive language (understanding)
  • Cognitive skills (such as attention, memory, and problem solving)
  • Social skills (such as perspective taking and reading social cues)
  • Self-help (such as eating and dressing)

A Place to Grow and Have Fun

Kids are just more focused when they're having fun. So our staff makes each therapy session feel like playtime through the use of toys, games, books, technology, and sensory gym equipment. Our spacious facilities are equipped to provide a broad range of therapeutic care and include:

  • Three gymnasiums for occupational and physical therapy
  • Four speech therapy rooms for individual speech and language therapy
  • One feeding room for therapy sessions focused on swallowing and feeding difficulties
  • Two early intervention classrooms
  • One physician examination room
  • One “cool down room” for a quiet space away from the bustle of the clinic
  • Adaptive playground equipment that is wheelchair accessible
  • A large outdoor patio and play area to practice gross motor skills
  • Playground features that are musical and interactive
