Outdoor Adventures and Wheelchair Sports

Freedom without boundaries

Casa Colina's Outdoor Adventures and Wheelchair Sports program empowers people with disabilities by creating opportunities through challenging and exciting outdoor activities. Emphasizing ability over disability, the program lets participants experience success both physically and emotionally. Our program utilizes the natural world to create unique opportunities where people with disabilities can:

  • Participate in day trips, wheelchair sports, and other recreational adventures
  • Enjoy a sense of community with others
  • Gain new skills
  • Share new experiences with people of all abilities

To sign up for participation in one of our trips, please visit our Participant Forms page and follow the instructions to submit your application materials. Outdoor Adventures staff will then contact you with instructions on how to pay any applicable trip fees.

Since 1985, the Casa Colina Outdoor Adventures (ODA), Recreation Therapy and Wheelchair Sports Programs has provided a continuum of opportunities to meet our patients, clients, and community members where they are in the process of rehabilitation. The exposure to a robust variety of land and water sports demonstrates what is possible when adaptive physical activity and recreation serve as a vehicle to build community. Community reintegration through the ODA Department is becoming a critical tool for individuals with disabilities to feel safe, welcome, and empowered.
