About Dr. Bobman

Jacob Tyler Bobman, MD
Hip and Knee Reconstruction

Dr. Jacob Tyler Bobman is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement. He takes great pride in spending the time to truly connect with his patients and enjoys engaging in detailed discussions with patients so that they can make treatment decisions together. Dr. Bobman believes in attempting all conservative treatment measures prior to surgery, but when nonoperative management fails he feels privileged to have the opportunity to alleviate pain and improve mobility through surgery. Dr. Bobman has a special interest in minimally invasive surgery and aims to perform each hip and knee replacement through the smallest necessary incision. He utilizes the most advanced technologies, including MAKO robotics and Intellijoint navigation, to help patients recover as quickly as possible. Dr. Bobman strives to treat each patient the way he would want his own loved ones to be treated.

Dr. Bobman received his undergraduate degrees in biochemistry and mathematics, with minors in music and international studies, from the University of Washington. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa and received the President’s Medal, awarded to the top graduating senior. He completed his medical degree at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where he was elected to the medical honor society Alpha Omega Alpha. Dr. Bobman then trained at the University of Southern California for six years, where he completed his internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery followed by his fellowship in adult hip and knee reconstruction.

Dr. Bobman is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. He has authored peer-reviewed publications in top medical journals including the Journal of Arthroplasty and presented his research at national conferences. Dr. Bobman is also active in Operation Walk, a medical mission that provides free joint replacements in third world countries, and has operated on mission trips to Cuba and Guatemala.
