Casa Colina Hospital Receives Outstanding Patient Experience Award for Fifth Year in a Row

Casa Colina Hospital has received the Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award™ for the fifth consecutive year. The achievement recognizes Casa Colina Hospital’s commitment to providing an exceptional care experience for patients and their families.

Each year, Healthgrades recognizes hospitals that provide an overall outstanding patient experience based on patient survey data from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS). This distinction places Casa Colina Hospital among the top 15% of hospitals nationwide for patient experience.

The patient survey focuses on patients’ perspectives of their care in the hospital, from noise levels and cleanliness to medication explanations and hospital staff responsiveness. The measure also factors in whether a patient would recommend the hospital to friends or family, as well as their overall rating of the hospital.

For this annual analysis, Healthgrades evaluated more than 2,500 hospitals that submitted at least 100 patient experience surveys to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), covering admissions from January to December 2022. Of those hospitals evaluated, Casa Colina Hospital outperformed its peers to achieve the award.

“What makes receiving this award so special is that it is based on real feedback from actual Casa Colina Hospital patients,” says Kelly Linden, Casa Colina President and CEO. “It is all the more impressive that we have earned this distinction for five consecutive years. It’s a testament to our staff’s unwavering commitment to providing the highest levels of patient care.”

Casa Colina continually seeks to improve the patient experience through a variety of ways. In addition to participating in surveys such as the HCAHPS, Casa Colina invites former patients to tell their stories and help improve the patient experience through its Patient & Family Advocacy Council (PFAC). The PFAC gives patients and their families or caregivers the opportunity to educate Casa Colina clinicians and administrators about their own real patient experiences in an effort to increase the overall quality of care at Casa Colina.

“We commend Casa Colina Hospital for going above and beyond to provide a best-in-class care experience for patients during their hospital stay,” says Brad Bowman, MD, chief medical officer and head of data sciences at Healthgrades. “Their dedication to superior patient care is particularly impressive given recent declines in patient satisfaction scores across the country. We look forward to their continued leadership and commitment to ensuring the health and wellness of all patients.”
