Casa Colina’s Outdoor Adventures (ODA) and Wheelchair Sports Program is thrilled to invite you to experience Boccia—one of the most inclusive and fastest-growing sports in the Paralympic movement.
Originally designed for athletes with Cerebral Palsy, Boccia has evolved into a competitive and recreational staple for individuals with a wide range of physical disabilities, including Spinal Cord Injuries, Arthrogryposis, and Muscular Dystrophy.
What is Boccia?
Boccia is a game of incredible precision and strategy, often compared to lawn bowls or bocce, but played on a flat indoor surface. Because it requires minimal space and can be adapted for almost any level of physical ability, it is the perfect sport for building skill and community.
The Basics:
The Goal: Players compete to throw or roll leather balls as close as possible to a white target ball, known as the "jack."
The Format: Matches consist of "ends" (rounds). In each end, every player, pair, or team throws six balls.
Total Accessibility: Athletes can use their hands or feet to propel the ball. Those with more limited mobility can use specialized ramps and assistive devices, such as head pointers or reaching sticks.

We look forward to seeing you on the court!"Boccia isn't just about the competition; it's about the precision of the mind and the power of inclusion."
