Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare Introduces Three Additions to Board of Directors

POMONA, California—Sep. 24, 2026 – Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare is pleased to announce the addition of three new members to its Board of Directors: Tirso del Junco Jr., MD; Julia Michael; and Stacy Stelzriede. 

The Board of Directors provides governance and oversight to guide Casa Colina as it continually evolves to meet the needs of its community. The Board consists of physicians, community leaders, business and healthcare professionals, and previous patients.  

Tirso del Junco Jr., MD 
Tirso del Junco Jr., MD is a healthcare leader and physician executive with over 34 years’ experience in private practice as a General and Vascular Surgeon. In 2020, KPC Health appointed Dr. del Junco to serve as Chief Medical Officer and Chief of Clinical Operations for the Healthcare System, which includes seven acute care facilities located throughout Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties.  He previously served as Chief Medical Officer of the Verity Health System and President of the Verity Medical Group. 

Dr. del Junco has also held numerous other prestigious healthcare leadership roles, including Medical Director of the Institute for Advanced Robotic Surgery and Medical Director of Perioperative Services at Mission Community Hospital, Medical Director of the Wound Care Program at Valley Presbyterian Medical Center and Mission Community Hospital, and Chief of Surgery at Temple Community Hospital and Santa Marta Hospital.

His mother, the late Celia del Junco, found a “new lease on life” during her rehabilitation treatment at Casa Colina, extending the precious time she spent with her family.

Julia Michael 
Julia Michael is a healthcare legal executive with more than a decade of experience helping health systems and health tech companies navigate complex regulatory, operational, and innovation challenges. Throughout her career, she has focused on helping organizations expand access to high-quality patient care while developing practical legal and compliance frameworks that enable responsible growth and innovation. 

Michael currently serves as Deputy General Counsel at K Health, a clinical AI-powered telehealth company that combines advanced technology with physician-led care to deliver comprehensive, longitudinal care, through partnerships with leading health systems. In her role, Michael leads and advises on strategic legal and compliance matters across digital health and artificial intelligence, including product development, healthcare regulation, privacy and data governance, technology and commercial contracting, and emerging AI policy. 
 
Prior to joining K Health, Michael served as Senior Managing Counsel for Kaiser Permanente, where she led a team of attorneys advising on hospital operations and care delivery across Kaiser Permanente’s national health system, which serves more than 12 million members. She previously held legal roles at Providence and in private practice. 

Michael’s experience at the intersection of health system operations, technology, regulation, and patient care gives her a distinctive perspective on how healthcare organizations can responsibly adopt new technologies while remaining grounded in their clinical mission.

Stacy Stelzriede 
Stacy Stelzriede is a retired CPA and audit partner with 35 years’ experience in public accounting. Prior to her retirement in 2015, she provided audit and consulting services to not-for-profit and for-profit healthcare organizations, including hospitals, community clinics, long-term care organizations, medical groups, and health plans with revenues ranging from $20 million to over $1 billion. 

Stelzriede has vast experience in internal control risk management, revenue cycle, regulatory compliance, tax-exempt bond offerings and debt covenant filings, and client education training relating to technical accounting issues and board governance. 

She spent the last 15 years of her career at Moss Adams LLP, where she held many leadership positions, including National Practice Leader for the Hospitals and Health Systems Practice, member of the Health Care Executive Leadership Team, Regional Health Care Practice Leader for Southern California/Arizona, and Health Care Assurance Practice Leader, among others. Prior to joining Moss Adams LLP, Stelzriede spent 19 years with a “Big Four” accounting firm, where she focused on providing assurance and consulting services to healthcare entities. 

“Having provided assurance and consulting services to Casa Colina throughout my career, I’ve had the opportunity to see the organization grow and expand services to those in need,” says Stelzriede. “Upon retirement, I had made a list of organizations whose boards I would like to serve on if asked, and Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare was at the top of that list. I am honored to have been nominated to serve on the Board, and excited to be a part of the continued growth of Casa. I can’t wait to get to work.”
