Casa Colina Hospital Receives National Recognition for Joint Replacement Excellence

Casa Colina Hospital has received the Joint Replacement Excellence Award™ for the fourth year in a row (2020-2023). Released by Healthgrades®, this distinction reflects Casa Colina Hospital’s outstanding clinical outcomes for joint replacement and puts Casa Colina Hospital in the top 10% of hospitals nationwide in this category.

Launched in 2017, Casa Colina’s Revive Joint Replacement Program has become a national model for its high-quality, minimally invasive joint replacement services. The Revive Program’s orthopedic surgeons use state-of-the-art robotic-assisted technology that minimizes pain, accelerates recovery, and leads to better outcomes for our patients.

The Revive Program earned two other multi-year acknowledgements from Healthgrades, including:

  • Five-Star Recipient for Total Hip Replacement (2021-2023)
  • Five-Star Recipient for Total Knee Replacement (2019-2023)

Healthgrades evaluated patient mortality and complication rates for 31 of the most common conditions and procedures at nearly 4,500 hospitals across the country to identify the top-performing hospitals for specialty care. This year’s analysis revealed significant variation in patient outcomes between hospitals with a 2023 Healthgrades Specialty Excellence Award and hospitals that did not receive the award. From 2019-2021, patients treated at hospitals receiving the Joint Replacement Excellence Award have, on average, a 63.5% lower risk of experiencing a complication while in the hospital than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the award.*

“Our Revive Program offers world-class joint replacement services where patients get specialized, tailored care from start to finish,” says Felice Loverso, PhD, Casa Colina President and CEO. “Thanks to our excellent clinical outcomes and the unrivaled dedication of our surgeons, therapists, and nurses, it’s no surprise to me that Revive has again been recognized as a top joint replacement program nationally.”

“We commend Casa Colina Hospital for their ongoing commitment to providing high-quality care to patients,” says Brad Bowman, MD, Chief Medical Officer and Head of Data Science at Healthgrades. “Consumers can feel confident that Nationally-Recognized hospitals by Healthgrades have demonstrated their ability to deliver consistently exceptional outcomes.”
