Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare Introduces New Chief Operating Officer


Matthew Chandler Chief Operating OfficerJan. 27, 2025 – Casa Colina Hospital and Centers for Healthcare is pleased to announce the hiring of Matthew Chandler, PharmD, MBA as its new Chief Operating Officer, effective immediately. With more than 15 years of clinical and operational leadership experience, Chandler will manage Casa Colina’s day-to-day operations as the organization seeks to advance its mission of excellence in rehabilitation. 
 
Chandler began his healthcare career as a hospital-based pharmacist but soon moved into leadership roles, progressively taking on more operational responsibilities, including as Executive Director of Operations at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Apple Valley, California. Most recently, Chandler served as the Executive Director of Operations for the San Pedro campus of Providence Little Company of Mary (PLCM), overseeing hospital programs, acute rehabilitation, clinical ancillary services, and support departments. In that role, Chandler also oversaw construction and capital acquisition for both PLCM campuses in Torrance and San Pedro. 

Chandler’s onboarding comes at a time of tremendous growth for Casa Colina. The institution continues to expand programs and has made recent strides in research, educational initiatives, and quality outcomes. Its inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Unit and Transitional Living Center were also recently reaccredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

Chandler holds a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of the Pacific and an MBA from The Pennsylvania State University. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Healthcare Executives and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.
