Casa Colina’s Padua Village Receives a $2M gift from Ellen and Wing Tam

Portrait of Mrs. Ellen TamAt Casa Colina, we witness incredible acts of compassion and generosity every day. But recently, we were deeply moved by a truly extraordinary gift: a $2 million donation from Mrs. Ellen Tam, made in honor of her late husband, Mr. Wing Tam, and dedicated to our Padua Village Residential Program.

Padua Village holds a special place in Mrs. Tam's heart. It's been home to her daughter, Yvonne, for decades, providing a loving and supportive community where Yvonne thrives. Mrs. Tam's connection to Casa Colina goes even deeper. Her late husband, Mr. Tam, received care here, and the family has been longtime donors and supporters of our mission. Mrs. Ellen Tam and Mr. Wing Tam

This historic donation, the largest single gift Casa Colina’s Padua Village has ever received, will ensure the future of Padua Village and its residents. It will allow us to sustain programs and continue to provide an enriching environment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

During a recent conversation, Mrs. Tam shared her heartfelt reasons for this gift: "We need to think about the residents, and as we’re all getting older, we need to secure their future."

Mrs. Tam's remarkable generosity is a testament to the power of love and the importance of community. It's an investment in the lives of individuals who rely on the very best care and support. From all of us at Casa Colina, and especially the residents and staff of Padua Village, we extend our deepest gratitude to the Tam family. The Ellen and Wing Tam gift will transform lives and serve as a vehicle for inspiration.
